Wallhof - initial table setup ...

Laid out the troops for both sides on the table, Swedish at the back and Polish at the front...

a couple of shots of Swedish side..

a look along the Polish left and right flanks...

I'm still checking through my notes, looking at the numbers on each side. One thing that may be worth adding to the table layout are some field defences (like chevaux de frises) used by the Swedish to discomfort the Polish cavalry which the engraving in the previous post shows

  1. How deep is your table, front to back? It doesn't appear very deep. So do you do something to mitigate that in your games or whatever rules you use? Your setups always look brilliant and full of action.

    1. Table is 3ft deep (the limit of my available space), the backdrop gives the illusion of more depth. Setting up games with large numbers on each side has to be done carefully to get the essential scenic items in - if necessary I reduce ranges/movement by using centimetres instead of inches.

    1. I'll be using a much modified version of 'Charge Yr Pikes' ecw rules (http://www.angelfire.com/games3/jacksongamer/ecwrules.htm)
