Removable wagon loads....

 
I had a rummage through the bits and bobs terrain boxes for some smaller items to use for wagon loads. These were stuck to strips of cardboard so they could be placed in as necessary.

They fit in quite nicely....

Finished two more houses and a windmill..

There will be a small church, I'm waiting for delivery of one I ordered...

A lot of effort put into making a suitable windmill, I took the sails off an old Dapol OO/HO windmill I was breaking up..

 The construction of first batch of buildings has been complete...

For the next batch I've decided to add a couple more houses and outbuildings, plus a church and windmill; enough for a small village and thats should be it 😁

Buildings for the 17C eastern Europe...

I needed some generic eastern Euopean style 17C buildings for my cossacks project....

I did a trial build to start with - basic shell made from cardboard

Roof and base added....

Thatch added using material from a fleece throw... plus lots of PVA glue...

I'm currently making some more buildings......

Swinefeathers....

I used some 28mm Warlord Games swinefeathers, to make up some bases to protect musketeers

a couple of usage options...

Wagons ....

I've finished building the extra wagons and used up my supply of lego wheels..

ALl finished and ready for painting. There are 9 of these higher sided ones, some with cannon for 'war wagons'

With 4 of these for general transport

Enough wagons to represent part of a wagon tabor/camp to be defended as part of a game scenario...or for a 'on the move' game...

Cossack wagons (again)....

The last time I did anything with these was Nov'24; trying to clear up paused (if somewhat forgotten projects) I thought I better get on and finish building them.

I thought it a good idea to scan my detailed (?) design notes, so I could possibly re-create more at a later date....

Constucting three more (cardboard, hibachi skewers and Lego wheels)

I have enough wheels for 4 more wagons, I'll use them up. Better more than less 😀

Barn Interior....and Game Setup

While setting up for a 'Musketeers' skirmish game, I decided to use a large barn - as action could occur in the barn I thought it a good idea to make the interior reasonably realistic...

I had a look through my printed paper sheet folder for something suitable for the main floor area; a sort of rammed earth look - cut some to size and stuck it into position.

I took some photos of the exterior of the barn, and cropped them for pieces to print....

a little bit of brown paint to disguise the joins and some uprights added using some strip wood painted brown...

In position on the game table with some items stored in it...

With the interior of the barn finished, I finished setting up the table for the game ....

most of the action will be in the yard area, with spill over into the barn and the road outside.  

Cossack War Wagon (WIP)....

I've been building a cossack war wagon for 40mm figures; made from lego wagon wheels, cardboard, bamboo skewers and a cocktail stick.

This a prototype for a number of wagons to support a cossack army.

Elite Tatar Warriors (WIP)

Selected a few types of my castings Tatar, Polish Pancerni and Ottoman cavalry riders, to do some conversion to make up a unit of Elite Tatar warriors....(sons of nobles..)

For a small solo game scenario I'm working on I'll need a river ferry. Something like this one ....

As it is a game piece it has to be cheap to make so decided to make it from some spare cardboard. Marking out with some suitable figures (a couple of Hachette Pirates of the Caribbean) to get the basic measurements...

build completed - a simple base and sides with some cross pieces to give traction on the ramp ends

The two chaps with oars fixed to them - basic but it look as if they are doing something

loaded up with the coach...

It's a bit undersize for 40mm figures, but thats fine as it may get used in 28mm 18C games.
