Reworking Pike & Shot foot regiments. (2).. the second batch..

 The second batch of three regiments finished. Two regiments of mostly my own home-cast figures; plus one comprising Sash&Sabre.

Reworking Pike & Shot foot regiments...

 The reworking of the Pike & Shot foot regiments is progressing well, 4 figures per base and extra musketeers.  I've finished three units so far ....

Eastern European Church...

 Recently added to the scenics,  an eastern European church. It is a 3D print at 1/48 scale to fit in with my 40mm figures.

The polish haiduks get a visit to the table....

Re-organising and re-basing (2)... Dragoons and ....

 Some Sash&Sabre figurespainted up to fill the gaps; the new look for the dragoon regiments now completed....

Next out of the boxes for looking at is the artillery...

I could do with some more field guns, lego wheels and WSS plastic cannon parts

just the ticket 😀

I think I'll have enough now. I need to make a couple more limbers though....

Re-organising and re-basing...

I'm going through an exercise in re-organising my 17C collection; I'm re-basing some units as well and checking the storage used is properly labelled and uses the minimum number of boxes as possible.

Cavalry Basing

I have a number of cavalry units either singly based, or a mix of single and two figure bases. For simplicity I decided to make some movement trays for them out of thick cardboard...

The Croats are the first to benefit...

Pike&shot dragoons

Looking at what I'd done for dragoons I had mounted and dismounted versions; the dismounted getting some horse holders and the dragoons on single bases.

With my small game table, the mounted dragoons are hardly ever used; most games they are deployed. So I've scrapped the mounted units - some riders and all the horses will be used for some new units; the rest will head to the melty-pot of doom to be cast into some new figures. The new scheme is a small horse holder base and twelve dragoons on 2 figure bases (a few figures needed to fill the gaps are on order).

Pike&shot foot regiments

The existing scheme for foot regiment; its based in ones' and twos'; the number of musketeers is OK but would better with more...

I decided to have 4 figures per base and adding a couple of extra musketeers; the new look scheme

I've 15 regiments of foot to alter to the new scheme. I've cut all the cardboard bases ready for big foot shuffle.

More sculpting: Levy of Nobility ...

 I need to raise some more Polish levy of nobility for some games I have planned; rather than casting and converting figures. I decided to make new masters and moulds. It makes things a bit easier.

Three options for levy of nobility: musket, saber, bow...

 

I have enough mould compound for another mould, so I made some other extras; a Lithuanian 'petyhorcy'and Polish mounted/dismounted dragoons.

A final tidy of the above masters todo. I hope to get the moulds made over the coming week or so and trial castings done.

Cossack Artillery..

 I've converted and painted up some more figures for artillery crew....

Removable wagon loads....

 
I had a rummage through the bits and bobs terrain boxes for some smaller items to use for wagon loads. These were stuck to strips of cardboard so they could be placed in as necessary.

They fit in quite nicely....

A small supply train .....

Tatars - some more added ....plus reorganised...

 While doing some trial casts of new moulds for my Samurai,  I cats a few more horses and riders to make up 8 additional Tatars; some converted with green stuff for variety plus some new standards.

I revisited the large Tatar segban unit I had , and made them into a unit of 12 to be some sort of generic musket armed dragoon

I've reorganised the Tatars in to 4 units of 12 figures plus a command stand.

Buildings 17C eastern Europe... the rest done

Finished two more houses and a windmill..

There will be a small church, I'm waiting for delivery of one I ordered...
