A little TLC...

Slowly working my way through my Pike & Shot collection (which consist of ~600 figures) fixing up paint chips and other light damage. At the same time I am going over the flesh areas with a light brown wash.  One of the foot regiments done today ..

Sculpt - Cossack...

Have sculpted a cossack rider and also one on foot, these can fight with or against the polish.

Tatar Trial castings ....

Mould made, trial castings done; I had a few minor casting issues, these will fix up with green stuff as needed; pleased that the extras of shield, bow case, quiver and two heads cast OK.

Using some of the trial castings, made up some initial command figures - converted ready to paint..( swords are Front Rank 28mm sabres)

Sculpt - Tatar..

I've been working on a sculpt for a Tatar which will be used to build a small force to fight alongside the Polish army.  The sculpt is for a rider which will sit on my 'ottoman' style horse.

the right hand is left weapon-less; once cast the hand will be drilled through to fit a lance or sword.

In addition I've done two alternative heads, a shield, bow-case and quiver

hopefully these will cast OK when they go into a mould with the rider.   The separate bow-case and quiver could be used to equip a pancerni or some polish light cavalry.

Currently planning my next set of moulds, the Tatar and extras will be first in line.

Polish Army Parade ....

 I thought a little parade of the polish army was appropriate as a way of celebrating the completion of the army build project...

I've started work on a sculpt for a tatar, when I can get some mould kits and more metal I will make up a couple of units to fight with the Polish.

I'll be trying to work out some more scenarios for (solo) games based on Polish-Swedish wars and also Polish-Ottoman wars. For the Ottomans I'll re-use my Begovian army developed as an opponent for 18C Wittenberg  ...  plenty of gaming options opening up.
