Cossack Peasant Mob... (WIP)

Armed with mostly farm implements (from Bicorne Miniatures) and a few swords; figures are mostly my home-casts and a few Irregular Miniatures ....

I've also cast a rider to check for fit on my draft horses; plus how they work with the wagons I've made.

Wagons ....

I've finished building the extra wagons and used up my supply of lego wheels..

ALl finished and ready for painting. There are 9 of these higher sided ones, some with cannon for 'war wagons'
With 4 of these for general transport
Enough wagons to represent part of a wagon tabor/camp to be defended as part of a game scenario...or for a 'on the move' game...

Cossack wagons (again)....

The last time I did anything with these was Nov'24; trying to clear up paused (if somewhat forgotten projects) I thought I better get on and finish building them.

I thought it a good idea to scan my detailed (?) design notes, so I could possibly re-create more at a later date....

Constucting three more (cardboard, hibachi skewers and Lego wheels)

I have enough wheels for 4 more wagons, I'll use them up. Better more than less 😀

Northern Hoflandt - Battle of Appelstrudel

The Monrovian army has crossed the border into the Northern Hoflandt, in a belated show of support for their ally Sax-Jarlsberg. Just south of the border town of Appelstrudel they are confronted by a Wittenberg army....

---oXo---

A view of the battlefield (Monrovian forces at the rear of the table, Wittenberg forces at the front); view from the Wittenberg left flank....
a couple of close views of the infantry....

view from the Wittenberg right flank....

---oXo---

The action starts, the Monrovian horse trot forward....
The infantry on both sides advance...
On the other flank the Monrovian cavalry start to move froward.....
The cavalry clash on one flank, the Monrovians receiving fire from the Wittenberg dragoons..
The infantry advance into musket range...
The cavalry get to grips on the other flank .....
On their right flank the Wittenberg cavalry have pushed back the Monrovians....
The infantry exchange fire......
On the left flank the Wittenberg cavalry have routed the Monrovian cavalry, and start to move against the Croats....
On their right flank Wittenberg cavalry beat and rout the Monrovian cavalry regiment and move straight on into the supporting unit....
Wittenberg's reserve cavalry unit, move towards their left flank....
The last Monrovian cavalry (on their left flank) stand and just hold the Wittenberg attack....
The Wittenberg cavalry pile into the Croats...
The Wittenberg infantry charge home, push of pike and general melee in progress..
The Wittenberg reserve cavalry unit, taking some ineffective fire in the flank from the Monrovian dragoons, start to envelope the flank of the nearest Monrovian infantry regiment...
The Monrovian cavalry is holding on.....
so is the nearest Monrovian infantry regiment.....
the crunch in the centre ....
Cavalry chase routing infantry, the Monrovian reserve infantry regiment forms a schiltron, Wittenberg infantry move froward and round behind the next in line Monrovian regiment....
The allied Croats hold the charge from the Wittenberg cavalry......
The Monrovian cavalry just about hang in there and keep back their attackers....
The the bulk of the Monrovian infantry has turned and run..... the Wittenberg infantry will soon turn to attack the last Monrovian regiment ....
The Croats lose their melee badly and rout, some Wittenberg cavalry chase them off while a regiment reforms....
A Monrovian infantry regiment makes brave last stand as the rest of the army beats a hasty retreat ....

A Victory for Wittenberg..

Ottoman Army Review....

Reviewing my 40mm Ottoman army; the main purpose is to check what I have, if anything needs adding (or replacing) so that I can do a last casting run on the very tired moulds before they go in the bin (the figure masters will be kept just I case..).

So here are the assembled troops...

Overall I have as much as I can use and nothing really needs adding. With the Tatars as allies it's a big enough force and a good match for the Polish army. So I'll be off down the garage sometime to ferret out the moulds for disposal - anything that has a generic use like the horse variant I'll keep.
